Procedures we perform

Pars plana vitrectomy (PPV)

Modern small-gauge vitrectomy removes vitreous gel to access the retina. Used for vitreous hemorrhage, floaters, tractional retinal detachment, and as the first step in macular surgery.

Retinal detachment surgery

Scleral buckle, pars plana vitrectomy with endolaser and gas/oil tamponade, or pneumatic retinopexy — chosen according to the type and location of detachment.

Epiretinal membrane (ERM) peel

Removal of a fine scar tissue layer on the macula that distorts central vision. Combined with internal limiting membrane (ILM) peel in many cases.

Macular hole surgery

Vitrectomy with ILM peel and gas tamponade, often combined with face-down positioning post-op. Small holes close in nearly all cases.

Vitreous hemorrhage clearing

Vitrectomy to clear non-clearing blood in the eye, commonly from proliferative diabetic retinopathy or retinal vein rupture.
